I was talking to the chap who done my dyno tune who is also John Hopkins BSB mechanic, he said our bike is one of the best bikes Suzuki have ever made.. They are getting a bit more popular as he said since June he had dyno'd at least 6 GSX-S's .. HM Racing are only a small tuning shop and to have done 6 in a few months says our bike is selling well IMHO...
I agree with Stromer, all i see around where i live are Supersports and Hardleys, more so on Hardleys, there everywhere. Since the GSX-S1K came out I saw one red/black faired bike and it disappeared in a flash :0. Even other naked bikes like the Z1000, Speed Triples etc. The GSXS and even the Z1000 are great bikea cant understand why I/we don't see that many on the road.
The "new release" demand has been met in my City, and sales are few and far between now.
R & B sell most; Gray, the slowest to move, with Naked the more popular (and cheaper).
When the Suzi Aust. Distributor pay's for ad's during and after the MotoGP & other bike races on TV for the GSXS1000, they must be not be selling and the warehouse full from the second and third shiploads from Japan pre booked in advance.
But they are not offering discounts yet on GSXS1000; only on GSXR's which are not moving worldwide like people here know.
I think there are a few people here who will be disappointed in expecting yearly updated and restyled GSXS's.
I've been buying new bikes for almost 30 years, and I can tell you Suzuki will do nothing to the GSXS1000 for at least 4 years, possibly many more.
Look at the Hayabusa, not the GSXR series. I bought a first edition in 1998 and the second edition was 2008 'ish (memory sketchy) and the 3rd was 2 years ago.
2nd was small reskining exercise, new clocks, and the 3rd was only Brembo brakes and ABS. So in between Colour & Graphics only.
Japanese Companies just don't do much. Just fine tune manufacturing processes (emissions updates), repackaging like rerouting a hose, change bright chrome to black chrome, reverse the Red & Black paint to Black and Red, that sort of thing.
Honda, Yahama haven't touched the 600 sportsbikes in 10 years, but keep stamping them out as the cost had been recovered in the first 2 years or so.
The Kawa GPX250 ran for 22 years with minimal changes in Australia. Etc, Etc, Etc.
So the 'snatchy' throttle will either hang around till Euro 5 or fade away after a few years via running ECU updates on the production line as we ALL know that Suzuki are LISTENING !
What will possibly kill off our bike is the Turbo'ed 600 Class that we have read about in the press.
So we will then experience Throttle Lag, not Surge? Or both?
My dealer got a naked and an F in back in April, I bought the F a few days later, they still have the naked and haven't stocked any more. This was the closest dealer to me with a GSXS, just over an hour's drive. The dealer 5 minutes from my house has never stocked them. There's two other dealers between, but I haven't check then since I bought mine.
Only time will tell if our bikes are finished or not.
What is popular in one end of the country, could be unpopular on the other end of the country, and you aren't even talking about differences in OTHER countries as RRP's are always different in each country, and even more so in states.
There's lots of variables that make a bike end production, popularity in one particular area is not it.
