I ran a B-King for 25,000 miles, then stupidly sold it, a decision I now regret. I should have sold the MT-01. The B-King never needed a valve shim. My mechanic in Portimao, southwest Portugal, said the big Suzuki inline fours never do. Yamahas, on the other hand, need them regularly. Interested, I consulted the owners' forum and one guy said that he did all his own servicing and had religiously checked his clearances and, in 80,000 miles, had never needed to do a shim. How is the GSX-S1000 for valve checks. Has anyone had to have a shim and, if so, at what mileage?
