Just curious why folks are interested in buying the GSXS1000 over say GSXR?

Is it the low down torque
Ergonomics
Looks

I like the looks of the GSXS1000 compared to the GSXR. For me its more about what I like about the GSXS1000 instead of what I think about alternatives. I think that the GSXS1000 is the best looking bike that Suzuki has in its lineup.

I can't be arsed with the folded up position of super sports anymore, not on the street anyway. I also
hate plastic on bikes, including screens...if I wanted wind protection I'd take my car.
When I had my S1000R I took of the plastics...to me it looked badass, to others it probably looked wank

Yep, I ride in all weathers except snow and probably do around 15000 miles a year.

I have a back injury that limits movement so supersports are out of the question, but i still want to ride a 'sporty' bike, so nakeds/streetfighters fit the bill nicely. The low-mid range torque is also a selling point as ill be riding in a urban or built up environment a lot. And they look badass

I have never been interested in sports bikes, they are too uncomfortable for me. When I go for a ride it is usually for 200-300 miles, this bike will be a replacement for my Suzuki B-King, the front end is very similar looking.
I do not like the looks of the s1000F version otherwise I might have considered it.

Some of my bikes:- TDM850, TDM900, CBF1000, Bandit1250, BMW F800 (don't know why), B-King (181.5hp best bike ever), GSR750 (whist waiting for GSX-s1000).

How do you like the GSR750?

I've heard there was far too much of a compromise going from GSXR 750 to GSR. However, having ridden neither I wouldn't know...

Yep you heard it right.
The GSR750 is a good bike, but not brilliant. @ 105hp it's 43hp down on the GSXR750 and 5lb.ft down on torque.
You have to keep the revs up to make decent progress but it handles well despite only having pre-load adjustment front and rear.
It's also nice and light 213kg, hard to believe the GSX-s1000 is even lighter @209kg (ABS). That is if we can trust the Suzuki figures!
