I'm possibly getting the GSX very soon and was wondering if the S gave any wind protection, The MT10 has a tiny spoiler that adds quite a surprising amount of protection.
Does the screen on the F help or do people dump it and get a better aftermarket one?
I currently have a loan bike , CB1000R, and above 80mph it's horrible, above 120 and you just want to slow down as it gets painful.
Cheers

I think the screen on the F offers decent protection and am pretty happy with it, but I've also seen others claim the opposite. I think wind protection is one of those subjective things, what one guy considers good another guy will consider unbearably bad. No way to know whether you'll be satisfied with it until you take the bike for a ride on the highway.

I'm 5'10 and found the stock windshield to completely useless, in fact probably the biggest complaint I had about the bike. Buffeting at 80mph is brutal and made for an miserable riding experience. Not sure where you are located but nobody seems to stock aftermarket screens for the GSXS so ordered an MRA racing screen and waited 8 week for delivery.

The MRA wind protection is fantastic and was able get the bike up over 120 mph finally. The way its designed though makes the cockpit area much louder but easily fixed with ear plugs.

R1KSU, 5-11" here, but possibly a tad long waisted (32" inseam) and have been pleased with the wind protection. The bike looks good and gets great mileage (read, great range). And remember you can identify the forum members with the slightly higher IQs as having the correct Triton blue model, as opposed to the pedestrian red and black. :)

The stock screen does keep the wind off my chest but does direct somewhat to the helmet, an extra inch or so longer would be good( the story of my life)
Even if the top of the windshield had a deflective lip on it would help but if I didn't want want blast i would drive the car :)

Does anyone have experience with windshield extenders?

No experience but I have thought about one of these a few times, available on eBay for about $70
I have simulated with my hand also placing it just above the screen doing what one of these extenders would do and it made a huge difference

From a slightly lower IQ member owning the Red & Black F :(, I have taken my F up to 260km/h and original screen fine, and in my neck of the woods we do have very strong winds at times. I do tuck a little though, but never thought I needed a different screen.

5'11 and I find my head is in clean air and the screen deflects roughly to my shoulders.
This means I can still do a tuck and get my head down when I'm really going for it.;)
Clocked 145 on my sat nav in Spain with a passenger on the back and other than him screaming like a girl the wind noise was quite exhilarating:D

Beaker, I don't know the circumstances but to go that fast with a helpless passenger is nuts. IMO. If you did that to me we would not be friends anymore. Maybe you mean kms/hr?
