ROTFLMAO! $800 for 2 hp, 1.5 lb-ft of torque, and noise that is compliant with Euro standards (no volume increase) is a joke. It would be different if there were a removeable baffle. It's purely an aesthetics or bragging rights thing at this point. I would just go full exhaust or nothing. This is right up there with spending $600-$800 for Suzuki painted calipers. Heck, I like the stock muffler enough that I would put that on an Arrow or Akropovic header before this muffler on a stock header. Although, I will admit that the stock muffler heat shield is easy to dent with ones heel.

Not sure why folk think a different end can is such a waste of money.... sure it might not change the sound or performance much, but we throw money at other parts of the bike just for looks, so why not the end can?

(BTW, I'll be changing mine for looks, but I won't be spending ÂŁÂŁÂŁ on the Akra!)
Because the stock can is awesome looking!

I like it too. I would love to hear what it sounds like with new headers and the cat gone. Still, I may replace it eventually. Any links to deals on the Arrow headers in the US?
Almost ordered this: EM LINEAMOTO | Arrow - 71628MI Great price.

Just want a domestic supplier in case I have issues. Called a couple of US dealers who should have pricing for me next week.

Yeah. I am a bit irked right now. I wanted to take off my exhaust servo and consulted my repair manual to find out that you have to drop the exhaust and shock just to get to it. What a bunch of do do. I am beginning to question if swapping exhausts is worth $1000 and all the work involved. Someone who has done this needs to tell me if it's really worth all the hard parts that need to come off.

I can answer that question for you :)

It is *not* worth it if you think $1000 + work is expensive.
It is *not* worth it if you think you will get a lot more HP (without proper tuning.. and then I do not only mean a remap/"piggyback fueling").

If you (like me) like to dismantle an engine or three, or just like to fiddle with engines, and do not mind buying several exhausts to try out different configurations (and test it), then it is definetly worth it.

BTW.
What have Arrow exhaust/headers to do in a thread about "high class" Akrapovic exhaust? :D
Jeez. I feel kinda abused right now. :-/ lol
