I connected the two holes with a piece of wire.. "RESET" appeared and I reset a year out and 7500 miles. Thanks to all who posted. Piece of cake.

I ordered the plug recommended from Ali Express but the wires are different. Unfortunately I noticed it after the fact. I connected the red and black wires as shown in a previous post and it threw a FI code.. Dang it!! This is the one I got, like I said the wires are in different places.

Is there a way to clear the code or do I go to the dealer with my tail between my legs?

I did the exact same thing. Gpounce helped me and by starting the bike 3 times the code cleared. Hope this helps.

Yes, you're not wrong. For the GT, the connector is under the passenger seat. The naked has it under the driver seat... I was giving RAS instructions for the naked version that we both have.

Hit 650 miles last week and finally did the service reset, thank you for the help again 👍

How do use this tool ?
I’m confused because of all the wires .
Per the picture the two wires need to be capped off together and the others capped off singularly. None of the wires need to be that long so the all can be trimmed down. That then plugs in to allow you to access the Service menu.

Alright, I am going to have to do this probably today because I am really close to 600 miles. On a 2023, is it the top left and right holes? I don't feel like blowing fuses. I have a obd 2 scanner so I am not afraid if I throw a code. I already had to use it to get rid of a light when the battery died. With the obd 2 scanner plugged in, can I change the service reminder? If the correct holes are being used, it would essentially be like bridging the plug right? Just a thought.

Wait... how did you hook up an OBD 2 scanner to the bike? What scanner, and what plug did you use? From what I understand, that isn't supposed to work on this bike.

As for the RED plug in the back, you want to short the white-red and white-black wires (on the bike side). On my GT that's the upper left and upper right if the connector latch is on top. You then turn the ignition on (but don't have to start the bike) and go into the service menu to reset the reminder date.

I bought the pigtail plug from AliExpress and on mine that translated to the blue and white wires, which I've shorted, like this:

Cool, thanks. As for the OBD 2 scanner and plug, these are the ones I bought and they fit the 2023. It plugs into the red service plug under rear seat. Same plug you are telling me to bridge.

It tells you a bunch of handy information.
Dude, AWESOME! I have a hand-held OBD scanner that I use on my cars and I have a similar pigtail for my KTM that works with the scanner. I just didn't realize you could get a pigtail for the GT, thanks!

As a side note, I haven't found anyone else mention the pigtail, everyone just talks about the multi-hundred-dollar HealTech scanner. I just ordered that pigtail, so if it also works for me like it does for you, we need to make that much more widely known.

It works great! I try to let people know because having a diagnostic tool is extremely helpful. I know for a fact that one fits my 2023. It was kind of a gamble when I bought it, but it ended up fitting so money well spent.

Yeah, I'll confirm when mine arrives, but it sounds like it will work. I figured one has to exist, the one I have for my KTM has a white plug on the other end, which actually fits into the OBD connector on the bike... but doesn't do anything. It also prevents the bike from starting. It's the one I showed in my other thread: OBD connector and OBD information

So yeah, I'm glad you posted this, it can help others out I'm sure.

So what happens if you don't do anything about the service reminder? You just get the reminder on start-up and the little wrench icon on the screen? No other issues?....

I believe that is it. It is more of an annoyance than anything. It is good to be reminded when the next one is as well.
